Our Minecraft Community

Who Can Play

Who can Play

Kids of all ages are encouraged to join, currently players range in age from 11 to 15. You do not need to be a client of TEC, anyone who needs a safe place to play online is welcome, the more the merrier.

We welcome players with all levels of experience. Newbies are welcome and can be paired with a Minecraft Master buddy to teach you how to play, give you food and tools and protect you from monsters.

Regardless of your level of experience with Minecraft or online gaming, our Moderators and Buddies will make you feel welcome and play with you.

Support & Moderators

Support & Moderators

We guarantee that a Moderator will be online between 5pm-6pm every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. We might be on at other times but these are the times when you can be assured a Moderator will be present.

Once permitted access you can play any time, however if any issues occur with other players while we are not online, please remember that everyone is learning and practising their social skills. There are rules that everyone needs to follow, but sometimes misunderstandings happen. Please don’t retaliate if you don’t like something or someone is being mean. We encourage parents/kids to inform us of any issues that occur and return to the game next time we are online, so that we can help you and support everyone to learn and develop.

All Moderators are TEC employees who happen to also enjoy playing Minecraft. They include experienced Support Workers, Managers and Board Members! Most commonly online you will see Shocker, Mrsmumk and TECCallum.

Online Chat

Online Chat

As some kids have challenges with reading or typing, we prefer everyone to join our Discord chat so we can talk. Its also much quicker and easier for Moderators to keep things under control if the kids can hear us and talk to us.

Gameplay Rules

Gameplay Rules

This section may not make any sense to parents unless you play Minecraft yourself. It will probably make sense to your kids and you are welcome to contact us with their questions.

  1. As Minecraft enthusiasts we mainly play an authentic survival game the way Minecraft intended it, which means no cheat commands or building in creative mode. But if this isn’t for you, there is a Creative Zone for those who play for the love of building and design

  2. We do allow Teleporting (/tp command), for the benefit of Mrsmumk who gets motion sickness from running long distances.

  3. World difficulty is Moderate.

  4. Rules are written on the wall of homebase (the big building when you first enter the world), parents please ensure players have read and understand these.

  5. Don’t take other people’s stuff and ask before you look in someone else’s chests. If you need something ask a Moderator or Buddy and they will be happy to share with you.

  6. Don’t TNT, burn or destroy other people’s buildings or items.

  7. Share and help each other. Share food, resources and items with other players. Go on adventures together and help each other. Defend each other from mobs.

  8. The roof of homebase is usually safe from monsters, has beds and supplies that anyone can use. If you need help just ask and a Buddy will come to help you.

  9. You can build anywhere you like but please be courteous, leave space around other people’s buildings, e.g. don’t build a giant machine right next to someone’s house.

  10. No leaving anyone out. Always invite everyone on adventures. If you want to build your own secret base that’s fine, but you are not allowed to invite some people and not others.

  11. PVP is currently disabled (you do not take damage if hit by another player).
